Beginner Coiled Basket Making Class with Deveta Glenn
at CAN-NC
Saturday January 10th from 10:00am until 3:00pm with an 1 hour break for lunch
In this class Deveta will be introducing you to coiled basket weaving.
Basket weaving is an ancient craft with a rich history and allows for immense creativity. Technically, coiled baskets are made by wrapping (i.e.coiling) a flexible material around a core, and sewing the material together to form a structure.
It is beginner friendly and unbelievably relaxing once you get the hang of it! Plus you can use a variety of mediums from pine needles, fabric, yarn to wire.
We will be using primarily yarn for our basket.
