

The Color Purple: Summer Film Festival
The Carolina Theatre of Greensboro has been a staple of the community, offering films of all different genres and engaging events for all. The 2025 Summer Film Festival continues the tradition of celebrating cinema and pop culture in an interactive and memorable way.
Based on Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize–winning novel, The Color Purple follows the life of Celie, a Black woman in the early 1900s South, as she overcomes abuse, separation, and silence to find her voice and self-worth. A powerful, emotional, and enduring story of resilience.

Summer Film Fest tickets are $9, taxes and fees included. Seniors, military, first responders, students & educators save $1 per ticket! Carolina Theatre Movie passes will also be accepted at door.
Doors and Box Office will open at 6:15pm.
