Juneteenth: The 2025 Arts Legacy Awards

Fri, Jun 20, 2025

The Arts Legacy Awards takes place during the Juneteenth GSO Fest. It started in 2021, as a way to acknowledge and celebrate the legacy Black artists have made in Greensboro.

This formal ceremony will include an awards ceremony dinner with honorees and their guests as well as a tribute show designed to honor their service to our community. Greensboro has a rich arts history, but unfortunately, we don’t hear much about the contributions of Black arts institutions, artists, and arts administrators and we want to take time during Juneteenth to acknowledge and thank them for their contributions.

Our 2025 honorees include the following person(s)/organizations:

Dance Artist: Tina Yarborough-Liggins

Hip Hop: Payroll Records

Theater: Miller Lucky

Radio: Tony Welborne

Poetry & Hip Hop: Jermaine "mainMan" Monroe

Special thanks to our sponsors: Juneteenth Greensboro, Creative Greensboro, and City of Greensboro
