Reshaping the Divide: An Evening with Cristina Henríquez
Enjoy an evening with New York Times best-selling author, Cristina Henríquez. She will discuss her latest novel and share her own experience of “the divide within,” growing up half-American, half-Panamanian, talking about how her sense of identity formed and continually reshaped over her life.
Henríquez’s novel, The Great Divide, is a powerful story about the construction of the Panama Canal, casting light on the unsung people who lived, loved, and labored there. She will also share insights on her work, including exploring culture, identity, community, and belonging.
Henríquez will be in conversation with Jodie Stanley, City of Greensboro’s International Support and Language Access Coordinator. Join us in the Van Dyke Performance Center in the Cultural Arts Building. This program is free and open to the public.
This program is sponsored by Greensboro Public Library and the Greensboro Public Library Foundation. Community partners include Greensboro Bound and Creative Greensboro.
