Martha Bassett at O. Henry Hotel

Martha Bassett is a singer/songwriter/guitarist living and working in the Piedmont region of NC, where she hosts The Martha Bassett Show. It’s a monthly musical variety show at the Reeves Theater in Elkin which features national, regional, and local musicians and also showcases my music and band. Her programming is heavy on female artists. Collaboration always happens. She livestreams every show on facebook and release portions of shows on TMBS Podcast. Martha also has a monthly jazz residency at the Gas Hill Drinking Room at The Ramkat in Winston-Salem where she performs tunes from the Great American Songbook in a trio format. On Wednesday nights Martha leads music at Roots Revival, an Americana worship service at Centenary UMC which explores the intersection of faith and secular music.  She’s also a long-time scholar of the music of the Shakers. To date, Martha has made 11 records, the last 2 with her current 6-piece band. She plays shows throughout the region and tour and works nationally in all of these capacities.  One of the most important things that Martha has learned from touring is that there’s no place like home.  Her music and her small successes are very much tied to the people who’ve supported her career for over 20 years.
