In Italian, "arrivederci" literally translates to "until we see each other again." Artist and art educator Cassandra Liuzzo has spent 89% of her life in Greensboro, North Carolina. From early years vending at Tate Street Festival, to teaching at UNCG’s All Arts Sciences & Technology Camp, Center for Visual Artists (CVA) and Creative Aging Network (CAN-NC), operating Greensboro’s only new-and-used art supply store, Shelf Life Art & Supply Co., and artist residencies at Greensboro Residency for Original Works (GROW) and Elsewhere Museum, Cassandra’s artistic practice has always been made for, of, and within Greensboro’s grassroots art community.
In Fall 2024, she will leave to pursue her MFA in Textiles/Fibers at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. As a farewell-for-now, Arrivederci / Until we see each other again is a holistic retrospective, featuring not just Cassandra's interdisciplinary fibers-based work, but also beloved pieces from her personal art collection and a curated selection of works from the community of local artist friends with whom she has collaborated and/or conspired.
