Wesley McCleary-Small is a native of Asheville who moved to Greensboro in 2013 when he started to attend UNCG for Choral Music Education. His performance experience ranges from musicals, operas, choral chamber ensembles, and singing with the occasional jazz/blues band. He is a 5th year public school Chorus Teacher and currently the Director of Vocal Music at Penn Griffin School for the Arts in High Point, NC. He received his Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education from UNCG in 2018. Along with performing in Greensboro, Wesley led This Community Sings, a singing event open to the community in 2018 & 2019. He has also been a part of the creative team for the annual ACOBE (A Celebration of Black Excellence) Festival since 2018, which celebrates Black Excellence among students and adults through the performing & visual arts, education, food, and culture. As he continues to teach, he hopes to continue to perform as much as possible outside of school.
