A Golden Age: Original Animation Art from the Walt Disney Studios, 1937–42 Exhibition at the Weatherspoon Art Museum

The Weatherspoon is thrilled to announce A Golden Age: Original Animation Art from the Walt Disney Studios, 1937–42, on view in its Space for Engagement from August 19 to December 9, 2023. This selection of original animation artworks—from not just Snow White, but also from Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi, the five films that scholars refer to as the Walt Disney Studios’ “Golden Age”—offers an opportunity to understand the complex and collaborative nature of the animation process.
