Based on the remarkable true story of astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt, "Silent Sky" brings together science, history, music, humor, and the extraordinary women whose work helped change humanity’s understanding of the universe. At the dawn of the 20th century, Henrietta Leavitt joins the Harvard College Observatory, where she becomes one of the women known as the “Harvard Computers.” Her work ultimately helps establish the scale of the universe and becomes foundational to modern astronomy. Alongside Henrietta are fellow astronomers Annie Jump Cannon and Williamina Fleming, whose own groundbreaking contributions were frequently overlooked.
