From 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, Creative Greensboro will host “Deaf Arts Connect,” a celebration of Deaf Awareness Month in partnership with Parents Rock Readiness Project, a nonprofit organization designed to provide resources, support, and information to parents of children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

This free event will feature line dancing, craft activities for kids, a paint & sign area, deaf-friendly musical performances, American Sign Language (ASL) instruction for beginners, and an introduction to ASL music interpreting. Visitors can also shop for handmade crafts and original art at a vendor fair featuring deaf or hard of hearing vendors.

The event will take place in the Van Dyke Performance Space on the first floor of the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St., with additional activities on the second floor in the Center’s four art galleries.
