The Nutcracker

From the moment you walk into the historic Carolina Theatre, festively decorated for the holidays, the magic begins. You're soon transported back in time to the home of young Clara celebrating the season with family and friends. After she receives a Nutcracker doll as a present from her Uncle Drosselmeyer, Clara will take you on a dreamy adventure with her through a battle between life-size mice and toy soldiers, then a sparkling land of swirling snowflakes, and finally, to an enchanting Land of the Dolls. The Sugar Plum Fairy and friends will entertain Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as the sumptuous Tchaikovsky score fills your ears with nostalgia and wonder.

We're thrilled to announce that this year's production will include a new Nutcracker Orchestra, consisting of talented musicians from our community!

Megan LeCrone, New York City Ballet Soloist and Greensboro Ballet Alumna, will perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy for the December 13th & 14th shows.

*Greensboro Ballet Donors are invited to attend special Donor Intermission Receptions at both the December 13th & 14th at 6:30pm performances (see Greensboro Ballet's website for information on how to become a Donor).
