Explore Paste Paper and Bookbinding

This two-session class, open to teens and adults, includes a paste paper demonstration followed by hands-on paper creation. Participants will learn to make colorants from sixteenth-century vegetable dyes and pigments from familiar plant colors. The class also covers using tempera, watercolor, and acrylic paints. Whether new to book arts or experienced, participants will construct a hardbound book with Coptic stitch binding using the decorative papers they create.
